Position: Coach/Mentor – International Freight Forwarding
Location: Mobile – Travel to workplace locations as and when required
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week
Leave: 25 days per annum
Plus public holidays plus up to 3 days Christmas efficiency closure
West Thames College London are currently recruiting a Coach/Mentor to deliver International Freight Forwarding in line with the Trailblazer Apprenticeship Assessment Plans. Reporting to the Head of Apprenticeships, the main purpose of the role is to enrol, support, mentor and train an allocated caseload of apprenticeships in line with the College strategy, ensuring that achievement rates are met, or are above, College and National standards, enabling apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding required to progress.
Essential skills and knowledge:
- A recognised qualification (level 3) and demonstrable experience and occupational competence in the field of International Freight Forwarding (air, sea and road freight)
- An understanding of current freight forwarding challenges, including Brexit
- A good communicator
- IT literate
- Work effectively in a team; internally and externally
- Be able to share information and resources effectively
- Have a commitment to safe working practices
Desirable:
- An assessing qualification (A1 assessor award/ TAQA award/ V1 award) or the willingness to work towards this if not
- A relevant teaching qualification such as PTTLS/CTLLS or equivalent. Applicants with relevant industrial or FE/HE sector experience who do not hold a relevant teaching qualification will be expected to work towards the relevant teaching qualification within an agreed time frame if appointed
