Developer Prologis has gained outline planning permission for a new £150 million logistics park at Appleby Lodge in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Logistics firm Nightfreight has been rebranded as DX Freight. The move - which follows the takeover of the company by the DX Group last year - was effective from 1st August.


DX Group, which claims to be the largest independent mail, courier and logistics operator in the UK and Ireland, acquired the circa £120m turnover Nightfreight business in March 2012.

Nightfreight is based in Willenhall in the West Midlands and offers services including white glove home delivery of big-ticket items such as furniture.


A stalled industrial park development on the outskirts of Derby is set to come back to life with a £45 million distribution centre that could create hundreds of jobs.

World renowned fashion brand SuperGroup have invested £18 million into a new warehouse in Burton.

SuperGroup, which is behind such brands as Superdry, is to move into a warehouse, known as The Duke, on Centrum 100, in a move that will create 200 new jobs.

French sports retailer, Decathlon, has acquired its first UK distribution Centre.


The company has taken the 190,000 sq ft former Tesco warehouse in Brackmills, Northamptonshire which became vacant following the recent opening of Tesco’s new 850,000 sq ft rail served distribution centre at DIRFT2.

Lambert Smith Hampton advised Tesco, while Decathlon represented itself.

The building is currently being fitted out by Decathlon and will become fully operational later in the year.
